Wyoming Surgery Centers Form State Association

Ambulatory surgery centers in Wyoming have joined together to form a state ASC association called the Wyoming Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, according to a news release from Todd Currier, association president and administrator of Northern Wyoming Surgical Center in Cody.

At least 12 ASCs are already members of state association. The mission of the organization is described as the following: "The Wyoming Ambulatory Surgery Center Association is committed to ensuring that surgery centers continue to thrive as a distinct model for the delivery of safe, affordable and advanced surgical services to Wyoming healthcare consumers."

Mr. Currier said the objectives of the association include efforts to promote the benefits, effectiveness and efficiencies ASCs provide to the healthcare community; supporting the efforts of its members; providing educational opportunities to its members regarding quality, safety, operational issues and legislative issues; and acting as spokesperson and representative for its members regarding issues affecting ASCs in Wyoming, according to the release.

The association intends to host a meeting in the coming months for members to come together and discuss strategies for the direction and future of the group.
