A physician from Aurora, Ill., has been indicted for allegedly diverting more than $765,000 from his medical practice and failing to pay income taxes on it, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Joseph M. Tages, MD, owns West Suburban Medical and Surgical Associates in Aurora, and also operates the Aurora Health Center. He allegedly underreported on his corporate tax returns from 2004-2006. The suit also claims that, from 2006-2009, Dr. Tages defrauded health insurers by falsely claiming reimbursement for $10,000 worth of services never rendered.
