Ophthalmologist William Foster, MD, PhD, has been appointed a vitreoretinal surgeon at Temple University Hospital in Pennsylvania, according to a news release.
Dr. Foster has also been appointed associate professor of ophthalmology and bioengineering at Temple University School of Medicine.
He comes to Temple from Texas where he was in private practice as a vitreoretinal surgeon and also had an active research program as a professor of physics at the University of Houston.
Dr. Foster specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the retina and vitreous.
He received his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and underwent fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina at St. Joseph Hospital Retinal Vascular Center in Houston, and biophysics at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
