Frequent visual field testing has been linked to earlier detection of the progression of glaucoma, according to a report in the Archives of Ophthalmology.
However, the study added, frequent visual testing may not be appropriate or useful for every patient.
Researchers at Jules Stein Eye Institute assembled a low-frequency data set by deleting every other visual field test from the second year of follow-up onward and a high-frequency data set where no visual field tests were deleted.
