Dulles, Va.-based StoneSprings Hospital Center opened an orthopedic ASC in Sterling, Va.

Rochester, N.Y.-based Strong Memorial Hospital has filed the most certificate of need applications in data company Definitive Healthcare's database. 

Utah is primed for ASC growth. The state has seen the highest population growth, an 18.4 percent increase, of any state over the last 10 years and doesn't require providers to apply for a certificate of need to build an ASC. 

Florida Heart Associates has completed the construction of an ASC in Fort Myers, Stevens Construction, a company involved with the project, said March 7. 

Essentia Health is building a 41,000-square-foot surgery center at Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, Minn., Fox 21 reported March 7.

Cincinnati-based TriHealth will begin work on a $30 million outpatient campus in March that is expected to bring 120 jobs to the area, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The number of ASCs in Texas have grown rapidly in the last five years, and it remains a hot spot for ASC development. 

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Ross Eye Institute is set to begin construction on a new treatment center, Buffalo Business Journal reported March 1.

Former Atlantic Records CFO Sheldon Vogel donated $10 million to Long Branch, N.J.-based Monmouth Medical Center for an outpatient center in Eatontown, N.J., that's expected to open in March, Asbury Park Press reported Feb. 21.
