Gastroenterologist Shekhar Challa, MD, has written a new book titled "Probiotics for Dummies," according to a Topeka Capital-Journal report.
It is the third book for Dr. Challa, a board-certified gastroenterologist who serves as president and is the co-founder of Kansas Medical Group, which has locations in Topeka, Lawrence and Shawnee.
His two other books are titled "Winning the Hepatitis C Battle" and "Spurn the Burn — Treat the Heat of Acid Reflux Disease." He is also co-producer of the upcoming video game, "Microwarriors: The Battle Within," scheduled to become available this summer 2012.
Dr. Challa received his board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology from Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., according to his website. He has served as the principal investigator for 17 different clinical research trials for such companies as Glaxo, Roche and Bristol Myers. Dr. Challa is also the founder of Osteoporosis Services, a mobile bone density testing company.
