Gastroenterologist Richard Ferstenberg, MD, has joined the medical staff of Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to a Sun Journal report.
Dr. Ferstenberg practices out of Central Maine Gastroenterology in Topsham. He has special interest in disorders of the liver and pancreas, with extensive experience performing several GI procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
Dr. Ferstenberg received his MD from Faculte Libre de Medecine in Lille, France, according to his bio. He completed an internal medicine residency through McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and completed a gastroenterology residency and fellowship at the University of Miami School of Medicine division of gastroenterology. Dr. Ferstenberg also completed an endoscopy fellowship with University Hospital of Hamburg in Hamburg, West Germany, and a biliarytherapeutic endoscopy fellowship at the St. Luke's Hospital Digestive Diseases Center in Racine, Wis.
