Shaily Jain, MD, a gastroenterologist practicing out of Digestive Health Specialists in Washington, has written a column on the importance of women receiving colon cancer screenings.
The column appears on the website of Digestive Health Specialists. In it, Dr. Jain encourages women to schedule a colonoscopy this month, which happens to be Women's Health Month.
Dr. Jain provides information on colon cancer, identifies reasons why "40 percent of at-risk women put off getting screened for colon cancer" and dispels myths associated with undergoing a colonoscopy.
