Fight Colorectal Cancer is holding a virtual symposium June 11 to discuss the rising incidence rate of early-onset colorectal cancer.
Any CRC case in a patient under 50 years old is considered early-onset. Early-onset cases continue to rise across the world, and are a cause for concern in the U.S. Researchers haven't determined what's causing the increase in early-onset cases, but have noted the cases buck traditional convention and do not have a hereditary component.
Jose Perea, MD, PhD, of the Jimenez Diaz Foundation University Hospital in Madrid, will lead the symposium.
