Check-Cap and GE Healthcare achieved their first development milestone when GE's developed and tested X-rays passed all tests to ensure C-scan system compliance.
The companies are working to develop an ingestible capsule that will allow preparation-free colorectal cancer screening.
Check-Cap CEO Bill Densel said in a release, "We are very excited to have achieved success in the first critical phase of our collaboration with GE Healthcare, where we demonstrated the capability of our process to manufacture X-ray sources for the C-Scan system."
The C-Scan system eliminates the need for bowel preparation, fasting and sedation.
