Few patients would disagree with their physician's advice during an appointment, according to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
In an online survey of 1,340 adult patients, just 15 percent said that they would initiate a disagreement in response to their physician's medical advice. However, patients did express an overwhelming preference for collaboration and discussion. Nearly 70 percent said that they would ideally share opinions and make medical decisions together with their physician, and more than 90 percent said they would feel comfortable asking questions and discussing preferences.
