A group of 24 physicians has formed a partnership with WakeMed Health & Hospitals and plans to open the Capital City Surgery Center in Raleigh, N.C., by August, according to a Triangle Business Journal report.
The partnership comes a few months after WakeMed experienced a falling out with a different set of physicians in a similar partnership.
The total investment to open the new surgery center comes to $17.6 million, with the physicians contributing $5.6 million and WakeMed contributing $12 million. WakeMed plans to sell more of its stake in the ASC and end up at a 50-50 split with the physician group, according to the report.
