The healthcare sector added 19,000 seasonally adjusted jobs in April, 900 of which occurred in outpatient facilities including ambulatory surgery centers to continue an upward though lagging trend, according to preliminary results from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Overall ambulatory service facilities added 13,600 jobs, mostly in home health services and physicians' offices. Hospital job growth grew more slowly in April than the 6,300 seasonally adjusted jobs added in March, according to the department's preliminary figures, but continued the year's upward job trend.
