Construction on a new hospital project for Mt. Vernon, Ill., that includes a surgery center is making progress, according to a Mt. Vernon Register-News report.
The replacement facility for Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, a St. Mary's Good Samaritan facility, is expected to open in January 2013. The project includes a 141,000-square-foot medical plaza that will be connected to the hospital and include the outpatient surgery center.
The medical plaza will also include a women's imaging center and outpatient imaging.
Construction of the replacement hospital is expected to be substantially completed in October, according to the report.
