Pediatric hospitals face steep supply chain challenges because they must stock specialized products in a variety of sizes for children of different ages, and there is a temptation to overstock.
The new approach involves reviewing clinical and financial implications for a proposed product or process change before a trial. Then all supplies are reviewed for safety based on age and weight.
