McKesson released its Strategic Supply Sourcing, the first cloud-based supply chain management system that can support multiple materials management information systems and combine external and internal data for a comprehensive view of an organization's supply chain spending, according to a news release.
The system will allow users to view information on surgical and medical supplies, high-cost physician preference items and group purchasing organization or self-contracted items. This will allow organizations to gain a better understanding of their supply cost and be able to better negotiate with vendors. The system will also allow users to set different parameters and names to view custom data sets.
