The FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health will provide two new training programs for medical device reviewers, according to an FDA news release.
The center is about to launch the Reviewer Certification Program, which began as a pilot in April 2010. The program includes up to 18 months of training for new reviewers in fields such as biomedical engineering and healthcare.
The center is also developing a pilot Experiential Learning Program that includes visits to academic institutions, manufacturers, research organizations and healthcare facilities.
