William Boothe, MD, a Dallas-based surgeon, has successfully performed his 130,000th LASIK eye procedure at Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center, according to a My San Antonio report.
Dr. Boothe was one of the first cornea specialists to be trained in vision correction techniques and one of the first cornea-trained surgeons to use an FDA-approved Excimer laser for refractive surgery. He was also one of the first few physicians in the country to use a microkeratome, a critical instrument used to perform LASIK surgery.
Dr. Boothe opened Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center in 1987.
