Washington Veteran's Affairs Aims to Improve Health Services With Data Warehouse

Washington State's Department of Veteran's Affairs is making medical data easily available for clinicians to be able to track trends, anticipate outcomes and improve health services, according to AOL Government.

The data warehouse effort is spearheaded by Stephan Fihn, MD, the director of business intelligence and analytics for the Veteran's Health Administration and a practicing physician at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle.

The information in the data warehouse include information on primary care outcomes, billing and revenue, prescriptions, lab results, diagnoses, hospital admissions, surgeries and more.
