Vermont Officials: Accretive Health Did Not Violate Debt Collection Laws

Vermont officials subpoenaed Accretive Health this summer to see if any of the billing company's interaction with hospital patients might have violated state laws, and found the company had not violated debt collection laws, according to VTDigger.

An investigation was conducted after the company's billing practices in Minnesota raised questions. Accretive settled a suit with Minnesota this summer and agreed to stay out of the state for six years.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire is the only hospital contracted with Accretive that provides care to Vertmonters.
