A former executive at Topeka-based Kansas Health Solutions has been charged with allegedly stealing more than $2 million in Medicaid funds, according to The Kansas City Star.
Jason Sellers, former financial officer, was charged with one count of wire fraud in a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Topeka.
The complaint alleged Mr. Sellers diverted Medicaid funds to Advanced Business Consulting, a company he created. It also said he fraudulently billed Kansas Health Solutions for services performed by his consulting business.
He is also accused of billing Kansas Health Solutions for sports equipment and uniforms for his affiliated sports teams and computer equipment for a school and for his family, as well as using some money to build and furnish at 3,755-square-foot home valued at $375,000.
