Connance, a revenue cycle productivity provider, conducted its third annual Connance Customer Impact Survey of people who received hospital services within the last two years and determined a link between billing satisfaction and hospital referral.
About 25 percent of patients were fully satisfied with billing processes and more than 18 percent were dissatisfied. One third of respondents said their interactions with billing groups determined whether or not they would recommend a hospital to a friend.
Businesses offices can determine patient loyalty, the study showed, as financial responsibility for patients continues to increase.
