The Office of Healthcare Quality and the HHS Partnership for Patients have announced the launch of a new infection prevention campaign for families and cargegivers.
The "WAVE" campaign is designed to help family members and caregivers educate themselves about healthcare-associated infections and the steps they can take to protect their loved ones.

WAVE stands for the following:
- "W" — Wash hands
- "A" — Ask questions
- "V" — Vaccinate
- "E" — Ensure safety
The campaign provides several free, downloadable tools — a wallet card, brochure and two posters — organizations can use to support their infection prevention efforts. To learn more about and downloaded these tools, click here.
