APIC has developed a free kit intended to accelerate both learning and delivery of practical tools for infection preventionists.
"The Champion's Kit" was developed by APIC in partnership with the Safe Care Campaign and funded by a health education grant from PDI (Professional Disposables International).
APIC defines a champion as "an individual who actively engages in infection prevention best practices and encourages colleagues to do the same" and says a champion's top priority is "protecting patients by reducing the risk of infection."
Resources in The Champion's Kit include the following:
- "Be a Champion" video
- The Champion's Kit implementation guide
- Champion's Kit posters
- Tips for prevention
- Checklists and templates
