Washington University School of Medicine Anesthesiologist Dies in Cycling Accident

Jennifer Wray Cole, MD, associate professor of anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, died Saturday, July 2, in Jerseyville, Ill., from injuries she sustained in a bicycling accident, according to a university release.

Dr. Cole had been a pediatric anesthesiologist at Washington University and St. Louis Children's Hospital since 1991. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and served as coordinator of the St. Louis Children's Hospital Down Syndrome Clinic while completing her medical training.

Dr. Cole also served as president of the Alumni Executive Council for Washington University School of Medicine, in addition to various other professional committee assignments throughout her career.
