Tennessee Anesthesia Company Affected by Laptop Data Breach Involving 1,500 Patients

Anesthesia Services Associates was recently affected by a data breach involving the names of 1,500 patients and their personal information, according to a Tennessean report.

PhyData LLC, a medical billing and management company located in Goodlettsville, Tenn., reported a laptop stolen from an employee's car on May 7, according to the report. There was no indication that the laptop, which contained more than 1,500 patient names and their personal information, was misused.

The companies associated with PhyData that were affected included Advanced Diagnostic Imaging, Premier Radiology and Anesthesia Services Associates. The majority of the names contained in the laptop were patients between Jan. 2009 and Dec. 2010.
