Four Loyola anesthesiologists have written chapters for the Manual of Clinical Anesthesiology, which is used in hospitals across the country as a reference and teaching tool, according to a Newswise report.
Scott Byram, MD, assistant professor of anesthesiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, and Steven Edelstein, MD, professor of anesthesiology at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, co-wrote a chapter on the anesthetic implications of heart failure.
Lisa Gramlich, MD, associate professor and director of pediatric anesthesiology at Loyola University Medical Center, wrote a chapter about providing anesthesia care to patients with asthma and reactive air disease. Sabina Oana, MD, assistant professor of anesthesiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, wrote about anesthetic care and the neuromuscular disease myasthenina gravis.
