EarlySense, a patient care device maker, has received FDA clearance for its bedside system and central display with oximetry integration, according to AZ Sensors.
The system is a continuous patient monitoring device that checks for oxygenation and ventilation. It combines contact-free respirator, cardiac and motion monitoring with oximetry, allowing hospitals to monitor the oxygen saturation of a patient while monitoring vital signs and movement.
The oximetry feature will be introduced at Medica 2012 in Germany in November and officially launched into the market in 2013.
