An annual survey by Surgical Information Systems showed an increased demand for anesthesia information management systems, with 57 percent of survey respondents indicating that IT solutions are a high priority, according to a MarketWatch report.
According to the report, 63 percent of anesthesia providers surveyed reported meaningful use requirements as a key driver in IT decisions. According to Ed Daihl, CEO, Surgical Information Systems, the survey mirrors the AIMS demand the company has seen in the market recently.
According to the report, 43 percent of respondents indicated they are either using or planning to implement an AIMS, with an additional 28 percent evaluating systems in the next year. The survey respondents said they were motivated to implement an AIMS because of the increase in OR efficiency, analytic capabilities, improved communications and support for mobile devices.
