The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services revised the locale specific Medicare Anesthesia Conversion Factors for 2013 after the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 — passed to avert the "fiscal cliff" — called for a 0 percent sustainable growth rate update for this year, according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
The new unadjusted conversion factor for services from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 will be $21.92, instead of the previously figured $15.93.
Alaska has the highest conversion factor of $29.76, and Nebraska has the lowest with $20.31.
