Four California residents are being charged with allegedly paying kickbacks to people who referred patients to their clinic, according to a report by SanDiego6.
Karen Kagramanian and Daniel Baiandourian, who operated a medical clinic in San Diego, are charged for paying kickbacks to people who referred Medicare beneficiaries to the clinic. Stanley Garrido, a physician assistant at the clinic, was charged with ordering the unnecessary tests and posing as a physician, and Corazon Ferrer was charged as being the lead person for referrals to the clinic.
Mr. Kagramanian and Mr. Baiandourian were also charged with Medicare fraud for billing for medical services that were either never provided or medically unnecessary.
A hearing is scheduled Sept. 7.
