Owner of Florida Medical Supply Company Pleads Guilty to Multi-Million Dollar Medicare Fraud Scheme

The owner of a medical supply company in Brunswick, Fla., has pleaded guilty to federal charges of using his business as a front in a multi-million dollar Medicare fraud scheme, according to a Florida Times-Union report.

Arthur Manasarian pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud and aggravated identity theft. He operated the scheme out of Brunswick Medical Supply in 2007 and 2008. While he admitted his guilt, Mr. Manasarian offered no further explanation for his submission of $7.5 million to $20 million in fraudulent Medicare claims. He submitted them through Brunswick Medical in addition to his eight other businesses in New Mexico and California.

Mr. Manasarian faces up to 10 years in prison.
