Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed a lawsuit accusing prescription drug wholesaler McKesson of illegally inflating prices of medicine purchased by the state's Medicaid program, according to a Bloomberg BusinessWeek report.
Atty. Gen. Schuette is seeking to recover millions of dollars from San Francisco-based McKesson, saying the state spent approximately $2 billion on brand-name pharmaceuticals from the wholesaler from 2001-2009. The lawsuit also names other defendants, including a company that published drug pricing data.
