Steris Corp. has announced it has launched a new segment of consumable products designed for endoscope reprocessing, according to a Steris news release (docx).
The Revital-Ox line of products is intended to address all aspects of endoscopy reprocessing, from pre-cleaning and transport through cleaning and disinfecting.
The new line includes eight products: Revital-Ox 2X Concentrate Enzymatic Detergent, Enzymatic Sponges, D-Sponge, Bedside Complete, and Endoscopy Brushes; Revital-Ox Resert XL HLD High Level Disinfectant, and the Revital-Ox rigid and flexible container systems.
"What we are launching is much more than a brush or a sponge — we have added a unique family of compatible products and formulations that have been designed to work exceptionally well in endoscopy environments," said Chris Antonucci, product manager in Steris's infection prevention technologies division, in the release. "The new Revital-Ox line was thoughtfully built to address three challenging areas for endoscopy processing areas: patient, staff, device and environmental safety; materials management constraints; and productivity needs."
