SPR Therapeutics, a neurostimulation company, has obtained a $250,000 investment from JumpStart that will go toward developing and commercializing its pain relief device, according to a Mass Device news report.
SPR's minimally invasive Smartpatch Peripheral Nerve Stimulation System has been designed to relieve shoulder pain in stroke patients for up to 30 days. The Smartpatch PNS system includes a skin-mounted external stimulator, percutaneous lead and small adhesive pads.
SPR is preparing to launch Smartpatch by the end of the year, pending final 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration.
