Medtronic RestoreSensor Gaining Popularity

Medtronic's RestoreSensor was approved by the FDA in Nov. 2011, and the neurostimulation device is gaining popularity in the treatment of pain, according to an ABC report.

The device is the first of its kind to incorporate motion-sensing technology to adjust the electrical currents depending on the patient's position. With other devices, the patient has to manually adjust the sensor. Rush University Medical Center in Chicago is the most recent hospital to start offering the device.
