Here are 10 recent pain management specialist appointments.

Dalton Hanowell, MD, and Alisa Hanowell, MD, opened a second interventional pain management office at Clearview Regional Medical Center in Walton, Ga., to treat conditions such as pinched nerves, joint pain and broken vertebrae. The physicians' first office is located in Newton County.

Regional West Physicians Clinic in Scottsbluff, Neb., opened a new neuroscience pain clinic with the aid of a three-year $800,000 award from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska. Sanford Kiser, Jr., MD, serves as the medical director of the clinic. Physicians on staff include Jaimie Clodfelter, DO, who is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine, and Manuel Colón, MD, who is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Ian Rivera, MD, has joined the pain management program at Southcoast Physicians Group in Wareham, Mass. In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient consultation, Dr. Rivera will see patients at the Southcoast Brain and Spine Center in Dartmouth and the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care in Fairhaven and Fall River.

Beverly Hospital at Danvers (Mass.) Pain Management Center is launching a new integrated care model that will combine traditional pain medication and injection services with a range of behavioral health, physical and integrative medicine treatments. Kenneth Branton, MD, will serve as medical director of the center.

Alan Cota, MD, a surgeon and pain specialist working in Dover, Del., signed on to operate at Lewes Surgery Center. His first procedure was the installation of a spinal cord stimulator.

Spine Pain Management, a medical services and technology company, has appointed Eric Groteke, DC, to the newly-created position of senior vice president of sales and marketing and chief technology officer. He will oversee development of the company model into new territories, optimize the company's billing IT, and implement a system for documenting case treatments and facts during medical procedures through an IP video-enhanced platform.

Kevin McGaharan, MD, has joined Sarasota (Fla.) Pain Management as a board-certified pain physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He will work to target the source of pain with customized programs designed to return patients to functional lifestyles.
