University of California San Diego Health renamed its head and neck cancer center after receiving a $12 million donation, NBC San Diego reported May 13.
The donation came from Hanna and Mark Gleiberman. The couple made the donation after Mrs. Gleiberman was treated at UCSD for tongue cancer in a 13-hour surgery.
The donation will support several endeavors at The Gleiberman Head and Neck Cancer Center, including clinical trials for head and neck cancer treatment, building a fellowship program and providing services not covered by health insurance.
