The Joint Commission re-certifies Missouri orthopedic clinic — 3 insights

The Joint Commission re-certified Western Missouri Medical Center's orthopedic clinic in Warrensburg, according to the Daily-Star Journal.

Here are three things to know:

  1. The Joint Commission gave the WMMC's orthopedic clinic, Western Missouri Bone & Joint, the Gold Seal of Approval for both its total hip replacement and total joint replacement.
  1. The certifications occur every three years after an onsite review where experts from the Joint Commission evaluated WMMC's national disease-specific care compliance standards. Compliance with hip and knee replacement-specific standards was also assessed, in addition to clinical practice guidelines and performance measures.
  1. The center has held these certifications for three years before the re-certification. Western Missouri Bone & Joint provides orthopedic services including partial, total and revision joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgeries and sports injury treatment.
