Oregon ASC to implement Zimmer Biomet outpatient platforms — 5 insights

The orthopedic- and spine-focused Oregon Surgical Institute in Beaverton will implement Zimmer Biomet's outpatient suite of technologies and patient engagement platform.

Here are five insights.

1. Oregon Surgical Institute is a joint venture between Regent Surgical Health and West End Surgical. The center is designed for complex cases and procedures and focused on total joint replacement and spine disorders.

2. The ASC will implement Zimmer Biomet's Consulting Service, a suite of technologies intended to improve institutions' bottom lines and quality of care.

3. It will also adopt HealthLoop, a technology platform for engaging patients at home before admission and after discharge. The platform provides continuous guidance, education and assessment of a patient's recovery status.

4. Zimmer Biomet Signature Solutions debuted in July 2016 and has been used by inpatient and outpatient facilities as they shift to value-based care models.

5. "Zimmer Biomet's Signature Solutions Outpatient Program offerings match what is needed for efficiencies in outpatient surgery," said Regent Surgical Health's Director of Bundled Payments Chris Stine. "By improving efficiencies and patient outcomes, we will continue to advance our efforts in building an outpatient center of excellence that enhances quality of care and lowers cost of care while driving procedures from hospitals to ambulatory surgery centers."
