Ophthalmologist Cathleen McCabe, MD, has received the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Lifelong Education for the Ophthalmologist Continuing Education Recognition Award, according to a Bradenton Times report.
Dr. McCabe, an eye surgeon, practices out of The Eye Associates in Florida.
Dr. McCabe received the award in recognition of her participation in the Academy's education programs and publications, according to the report. AAO members who earn 150 hours of Academy-designated category 1 credits within a 3-year period (including participation in one annual Meeting and/or completion of a ProVision self-assessment program) are eligible for the LEO Continuing Education Recognition Award, according to AAO.
Dr. McCabe received her MD from Medical College of Wisconsin. She then completed an internship with St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis., and residency training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami's School of Medicine, according to her bio. Dr. McCabe specializes in cataract surgery and LASIK.
The Eye Associates has six West Coast Florida locations.
