National Medical Billing Services Founder and President Lisa Rock recently gave a presentation at the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association annual meeting about increasing the value of managed care contracts.
She discussed how surgery center administrators can analyze managed care contracts to better understand each payor's terms and reimbursement rates and then apply that information to the revenue cycle.
"Surgery centers can lose out on significant revenue because they don't understand how to get the most out of their managed care contracts," said Ms. Rock. "Analyzing each managed care contract on a regular basis and communicating the key point to all clinical and administrative staff is necessary for the financial success of the center."
