ASC Quality and Access Act of 2011 Adds New Co-Sponsor Following Fly-In

Following last week's Washington State fly-in, Adam Smith (D-Wash.) has joined the ASC Quality and Access Act of 2011 as a co-sponsor, according to an ASCA release.

The Washington State group met with Rep. Smith and shared the benefits of ASCs as low-cost, high-quality providers. Less than a week after the meeting, Rep. Smith became a co-sponsor of the bill.

According to the ASCA, Rep. Smith's participation is a "prime example" of the effective of ASC fly-ins. Members of Congress are sent to Washington, D.C., to represent their constituents, and when those constituents visit Washington, D.C., to ask for help, the Congress members often pay attention and act in their favor.
