Rural Pahrump, Nev., has long struggled with a lack of access to medical care. Its residents have to travel to cities like Las Vegas to seek out appropriate medical treatment, according to a July 12 report in the Pahrump Valley Times. 

HCA Healthcare's ambulatory surgery division opened its new Southern Joint Surgery Center with seven physician partners in downtown Nashville, according to a July 12 company news release.

Gastroenterology group MNGI Digestive Health and Allina Health, both based in Minneapolis, broke ground on a joint venture multispecialty clinic, ASC and endoscopy center, REJournals reported June 30.

Aurora Health Care's new Sheboygan, Wis., multispecialty medical center will open July 10.

San Antonio-based Methodist Hospital Northeast is building a medical office building with an ASC, San Antonio Express-News reported June 30.

Buffalo-based ophthalmology group UBMD Ophthalmology is doubling the capacity of its Ross Eye Institute with an expansion project that will eventually include a new ASC, Buffalo Business First reported June 29.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners joined with Greenville, S.C.-based Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital and local physicians to build an ASC.

Mt. Vernon, Wash.-based Skagit Regional Health is building a new ASC.

Valley Surgery Center, located in Hudson (Wis.) Medical Center, will be able to handle over 10,000 surgeries per year once it is fully operational, the Hudson Star-Observer reported June 21.
