5 Recent Surgery Center Moves

Here are five surgery centers that have recently moved to a new facility or are planning a move.

Baptist Plaza Surgicare (Nashville, Tenn.). In August, Baptist Plaza Surgicare, affiliated with United Surgical Partners International, filed a certificate of need application for relocation to a different Nashville location. The surgery center currently has nine operating rooms and one surgical procedure suite. The desired location is in a new medical office building that has 28,500 square feet available. Baptist Plaza Surgicare offers ENT, spine, plastic, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic and pain management services.

Paseo Surgery Center (Albuquerque, N.M.). A real estate group purchased a 15,000-square-foot Albuquerque, N.M., building about two years ago. Now, Paseo Surgery Center will be moving to this building to occupy an estimated 6,200 square feet. A group of physicians operates the surgery center. The building will also house a private dental practice and NextCare Urgent Care.

Sisters Ambulatory Surgery Center (Amherst, N.Y.). Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga, N.Y., is planning a $3.5 million ambulatory surgery center project that involves the relocation of Sisters Ambulatory Surgery Center to a second floor space on the hospital's campus. The second floor space will be expanded by 2,090 square feet. The relocated surgery center will have nine pre- and postoperative holding areas and three operating rooms.

Tri-State Surgery Center (Washington, Pa.). Washington Health System has officially broken ground on a 51,000-square-foot outpatient center in South Strabane Township, Pa. Tri-State Surgery Center will relocate to this new facility and occupy approximately 19,000 square feet. The surgery center is a joint venture between physician owners and The Washington Hospital.

Waldorf (Md.) Endoscopy Center. Waldorf Endoscopy Center and GI Associates of Maryland announced plans to move to a new facility in February. The center began seeing patients at its new location in April. The new location has one additional procedure room.
