John Teas joined Meridian Surgical Partner's team as the senior vice president of business development, effective March 1.
Here are four things to know:
1. With his healthcare career spanning more than 20 years, Mr. Teas previously served as vice president of mergers and acquisitions for AmSurg.
2. He also held business development positions at Ansell Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson Mitek and Johnson & Johnson Medical, with a primary focus on medical products.
3. Mr. Teas launched his healthcare career as a medical sales recruiter at Southwestern Professional Services.
4. In his new role, Mr. Teas said he aims to ensure Meridian's existing centers recruit new physicians who can add both diversity and growth to the centers. He also hopes to take on de novo projects.
Meridian CEO John Wilson said in a release, "We are excited about the vast knowledge that John brings to the table for Meridian in the de novo space, along with the market development of our existing centers.
