The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association elected two new board members and four additional members were re-elected.
The two new board members are Vice President of Facility Development for Evergreen, Colo.-based Pinnacle III Lisa Austin, RN, and CEO and Administrator of National Surgical Healthcare—Lakes Surgery Center in Detroit Jennifer Butterfield, RN, BSN. They were both elected to three-year terms.
The four board members who were re-elected to three-year terms include:
• Administrator of Sansum Clinic Foothills Surgical Center in Santa Barbara, Calif., Sandra Berreth, RN
• Director of Physician Development at North Texas Specialty Physicians in Fort Worth Thomas Deas Jr., MD
• Independent Consultant and obstetrician/gynecologist at Ettinger Consulting in Santa Monica, Calif., Bruce Ettinger, MD
• President and CEO of Mississippi Valley Health in Davenport, Iowa, Michael J. Patterson, RN
Mr. Patterson is the ASCA board treasurer.
ASCA board members serve three-year terms and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The members are elected with at least one-third of the board comprised of physicians and members also serve on the ASCA Foundation Board.
