The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons has appointed Gerald M. Fried, MD, as its new president.
Dr. Fried currently serves as the surgeon-in-chief of the McGill University Health Centre and the Edward W. Archibald Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at McGill University, both in Montreal, Canada.
He has previously served as the SAGES vice president, treasurer and chair of the finance committee.
