Olympus received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance to introduce its Narrow Band Imaging technology in the United States, according to a Medgadget report.
The endoscopic light imaging system helps resolve lesions without dyes or contrast agents by helping to see vessel networks. The technology is indicated for assessing non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer in patients, but it is not intended to supplant histopathological sampling for the definitive diagnosis.
