Olympus Medical to Launch Updated Ultrasound Endoscopy Center in November

Olympus Medical Systems is preparing to launch its EU-ME2 endoscopic ultrasound center for endoscopic monitoring of the digestive tract in November.

The center connects to an endoscope to send and receive the ultrasound waves. It is the same compact size as the previous model but produces higher resolution images.

Endoscopic ultrasounds are a combination of endoscopy and ultrasound technology to image the digestive tract and surrounding organs. The device can reach deeper organs, such as the pancreas, and is used for examining cancers of the pancreas, lung, stomach, and esophagus.
